Futura’s landmark exhibition in Singapore will offer a 150-page exhibition catalogue presented in a custom-designed military ammo box – and a corresponding heavyweight commemorative canvas portage. The ammo box takes cues from Futura’s personal history with the US Navy, and acknowledges the impact this seminal moment had on his aesthetic approach.The box set references Futura’s first visit to Singapore in 1974 as a member of the US Navy, and his return today as a “commanding energy” in the world of art.

To celebrate Futura’s Southeast Asian debut in Singapore, Dover Street Market Singapore will proudly be the ignition point for the formal global re-launch of Futura Laboratories, Futura’s product brand. The official retail launch date will be on 2nd June at DSMS. His first seasonal collection will launch exclusively at the DSMS store at Dempsey Road; thereafter, Dover Street Market, as the official global exclusive retail partner of FL, will present the brand at its in Beijing, London, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo—in July of 2019. Additionally, there will also be some surprise collaboration items for sale—between FL and other luminaries from the worlds of art and design.

From May 31 to June 9, DSMS will also display a specially commissioned painting by Futura as part of the brand’s installation in-store, with the canvas available for purchase. On June 2 at 5.30pm, there will be a 30-minute meet-and-greet session with Futura at DSMS as well as an in-store party open to public till 8pm. Futura will also sign The Culture Story’s custom-designed Collector’s Box Set. It will be available for sale while stocks last.
